Origin and extraction:
JOJOSKIN® jojoba oil is an extract from fruits grown in the Atacama desert in northern Chile, an area where there is no pollution. This desert lies between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean and is one of the driest areas in the world. The jojoba plants find ideal growing conditions there: Soils that are rich in various minerals, as well as natural condensation due to the high temperature difference between day and night, which ensures their water supply. The soils are worked according to the traditional method (manually or with draught animals) to avoid any pollution by petroleum. No pesticides or artificial fertilizers are used. The soil is naturally rich in minerals. For this reason any addition of fertilizers is unnecessary. Jojoba is harvested once a year and mechanically cold pressed. The oil obtained is clarified over its natural period of time without the use of centrifugation to ensure the quality of the product - in the purest sense of the traditional cultures.
Physical and chemical properties:
JOJOSKIN® oil is 100 percent pure and natural, has a golden yellow color, is odorless and oxidation-free. In a dry place, protected from light, it lasts for several years without the risk of decomposition. Its consistency is comparable to that of liquid wax. From an ambient temperature of 7°C or less it turns into a solid state. If its container is placed in a lukewarm water bath, it returns to its liquid state without losing its properties. It is mainly composed of esters of unsaturated fatty acids and alcohol esters, but does not contain triglyceride. In addition to proteins and vitamin E, JOJOSKIN® naturally contains 96% ceramides, which envelop the cells of the dermis and regulate their natural moisture supply. This prevents oxidation and the formation of free radicals, which are the most frequent causes of skin ageing. Its molecules are most similar to those of human ceramides, ensuring optimal absorption. Furthermore, a chemical analysis has shown that it contains eight aromas, while other jojoba oils contain only four.
Use and qualities
Body care: Suitable for children, women and men. Moisturising after bathing. Can be used as day or night cream. For use in acne-affected areas. Regulates the flow of sebum. Completely odourless. Allows you to apply your favourite perfume after use.
All skin types, all ages: Regenerating, moisturizing, hypoallergenic effective care for dry and stressed skin. Proven exceptional anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties. Ideal for sensitive skin.
Face: Natural moisture deep into the skin. Against free radicals. Allows the formation of collagen, which gives the skin an elastic and youthful appearance. Can be used as a make-up remover. Leaves a non-greasy film that protects against aggressive cold and dryness. Natural sun protection with sun protection factor 10.
Shaving Balm: Soothes the skin after shaving and moisturizes it deeply. Gives the skin a well-groomed appearance. Allows you to apply your own aftershave after applying the oil, thus avoiding burning of the after shave.
Infants: Recommended for children due to its nutritious properties, vitamin and protein content. Ideal for massaging babies. To be used after the daily bath and skin cleansing. Cares for children's skin, relieves redness and helps with eczema and skin irritations.
Hair: for dry and greasy hair. Gives shine and suppleness, revitalizes the hair and protects the tips. The ceramides reduce the formation of split ends. Contains linoleic acid, which dissolves excess sebum - the main cause of dandruff and hair loss. Apply a few drops to dry or wet hair, leave on overnight and wash in the morning as usual. Recommended for hair exposed to wind and sun or in contact with salt water.
Massage: Ideal for use in combination with essential oils. Leaves a non-greasy film after application. By being absorbed into the skin, the positive effect of the essential oils is enhanced.
